Focus and Scope

The scope of this journal is all about Veterinary Science and Tecnology field such as Animal Nutrition, Applied Veterinary Reproduction, Applied Veterinary Parasitology, Applied Veterinary Microbiology, Veterinary Public Health, Applied Veterinary Clinic. Journal of Applied Veterinary Science and Technology accepts submission from all over the world. All accepted articles will be published on an open-access basis and will be freely available to all readers with worldwide visibility and coverage.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to this journal (Journal of Applied Veterinary Science and Technology) must follow Focus and Scope and Author Guidelines of this journal. The submitted manuscript to this journal can be written in Indonesian or English. The work must not have been published or submitted for publication elsewhere. 

All submitted manuscripts must be free from plagiarism contents. All authors are suggested to use plagiarism detection software to do the similarity checking (please use Turnitin to check the similarity). Editors will also check the similarity of manuscripts in this journal by using a Turnitin software.

The submitted manuscripts to this journal will be peer-reviewed at least 2 (two) or more expert reviewers from Peer-Reviewers Team. The reviewers give scientific valuable comments improving the contents of the manuscript. The review process used in this journal is double blind review system. 4-5 weeks will be needed for reviewers to complete one round of the reviewing process.

Final decision of manuscript acceptance is solely made by Editor in Chief according to reviewers critical comments. The final decision of manuscript is solely based on the Editors final review which considering peer-reviewers comments (but not solely by Reviewer).

Publication of accepted articles including the assigning the article to published issue will be made by Editor in Chief by considering sequence of accepted date and thematic issue.


Publication Frequency

Journal of Applied Veterinary Science and Tecnology (JAVEST) publish with a frequency of 2 (two) times a year in April and September. 

Journal of Applied Veterinary Science and Tecnology  published by Department of Health, Faculty of Vocational Health Studies, Universitas Airlangga.


Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Articles are freely available to both subscribers and the wider public with permitted reuse.

All articles published Open Access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download. We are continuously working with our author communities to select the best choice of license options: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA). Authors and readers can copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format, as well as remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially, but they must give appropriate credit (cite to the article or content), provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.



This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...


Article Processing Charge

Every article submitted to Journal of Applied Veterinary Science and Tecnology does not charge any 'Submission and 'Article Processing Fees'. This includes peer-reviewing, editing, publishing, maintaining and archiving, and allow immediate access to the full-text versions of the article.


Plagiarism Screening

To avoid plagiarism, all submissions are screened using TURNITIN before undergo the review processes. The manuscript is passed if the similarity is less than 20%

Plagiarism-free works should match these requirements:

1. Writing that quoting writings of others (by quoting indirectly) that has been well paraphrased, by making one’s own words, instead of performing copy and paste or typing the original source word-by-word, and write down the reading sources according to the rules of scientific writing.

2.  Writing with a direct quotation, by quoting the exact same words as the original writings should apply quotation marks (for writing that less than 40 words), or if the quote consists of over than 40 words, the paragraphs should be notched and apply different font size.

3. Mentioning the original source other people's ideas that are being used, whether from published or unpublished writing, both from oral or written source, in any form of media
