The scope of the Journal of Marine and Coastal Science includes studies that intend to examine and understand marine sciences and coastal management such as seafood nutrition, marine microbiology, marine biotechnology, coastal management, and marine biodiversity research.

Peer Review Process

Journal of Marine and Coastal Science committed to provide rapid publication process through an initial assessment conducted by checking the plagiarism using Turnitin application. Then, if the manuscripts with a uniqueness more than 80% will be sent to an editorial committee consisting of members of the editorial team for review of content paper especially compliance with the rules of writing. The main purpose is to decide whether to send the paper for peer review or to reject it.

Occasionally a paper will be returned to the author with a request for revisions with the purpose to help editors in deciding whether or not to send it out for review. The authors may expect a decision from this stage of the review process within 1-6 weeks of submission.

In the reviewing process, there are at least two reviewers for each manuscript for the related topic. Judgment from the reviewers will be the main priority on which the editors will make their decision, with the condition's minimum of two reviewers. The final decision to publish is made by the editor in chief, editorial committee by considering the advice from reviewers. Two weeks until one month will be needed for the reviewer to complete one round of the reviewing process. The paper that has been reviewed will have a decision: accepted without changes, minor revision, major revision, reject.

All of the reviewing processes is done by way of a blind review and is managed by the editor in our editorial system.

Journal of Marine and Coastal Science is published 3 times a year in February, June and September

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

Plagiarism Screening

The manuscript must be an original work of the author. The manuscript submitted to this journal will be checked using a plagiarism tool (TURNITIN) to check the similarity of existing publications. Manuscript with similarities ≤20% will be forwarded to the next stage, while manuscript with similarities exceeding 20% will be returned to the author for correction. Otherwise, the manuscript will be rejected.

2. The formal legal aspect of journal accessibility refers to the same Creative Common Non-Commercial-Commercial Attribution (CC BY-NC-SA), implying that publication can be used for non-commercial purposes in its original form.

 

3. Every publication (printed/electronic) is open access for educational, research and library purposes. In addition to the objectives stated above, the editorial board is not responsible for copyright infringement

Starting from February 12th, 2020, articles submitted to our journal will be charged with the following :
