This program is implemented on Gili Iyang Island, Sumenep, Madura. On the island, the only mode of transportation available is motorbikes and three-wheeled motorbikes due to limited and narrow roads. The price of gasoline reaches two to four times the normal price. Based on these conditions, the issue raised in this community service program is the use of electric bicycles for mobility, with the hope that it can also be a means of supporting the main tourist attraction of the island known as "Oxygen Island". This program is training for the community on how to assemble and maintain electric bicycles. The electric bicycles used in this program are designed with compact and flexible advantages, equipped with lithium batteries with a range of up to 30 km. In addition, there is a pedal assist feature to make it easier to pedal when needed, such as when going uphill or crossing sandy roads. For recharging electric bicycles, a solar shelter is provided, which helps save transportation costs. Training is provided through theoretical and practical materials. Participants can directly implement the theory that has been conveyed when practicing assembling bicycles. Based on the results of the pre and post tests, in general, there was an increase of 17-50% in the knowledge and skills of participants related to the assembly and maintenance of electric bicycles. This is a very strong belief that the Gili Iyang community has been able to use and maintain electric bicycles.
2025-06-17T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Yoga Uta Nugraha, Muhammad Syahril Mubarok, Retna Apsari https://e-journal.unair.ac.id/jlm/article/view/64400 IMPROVING THE ACCOUNTABILITY OF SMEs IN MALANG CITY: A STRATEGIC STEP TOWARDS GLOBAL COMPETITIVENESS 2025-02-19T14:21:58+07:00 Nitami Galih Pangesti nitami.galih.p@vokasi.unair.ac.id Prinintha Nanda Soemarsono prinintha.nanda@vokasi.unair.ac.id Izmi Dwira Eriani zero-mail@gmail.com
The low level of financial literacy among MSMEs directly impacts poor accountability practices. Pratiwi & Mutmainah (2021) emphasize that career readiness is not only focused on individual aspects but also has a broader social impact by empowering communities to access better job opportunities. However, there remains a gap in understanding how to create an effective Curriculum Vitae (CV), especially in the context of German recruitment requirements, which demand a specific structure and format. In response to these challenges, the CV Masterclass workshop was designed to train participants in drafting and improving their CVs to make them more attractive, professional, and aligned with German standards. This activity aimed to help participants understand the key components of an effective CV, provide practical skills in writing and designing CVs, and boost their confidence in job applications. The methods used included direct training sessions, mentoring by two lecturers from the German Language Education undergraduate program at Universitas Negeri Malang (UM), and the distribution of questionnaires to measure the effectiveness of the activity. The workshop was held on May 20, 2024, at the Self Access Centre German Corner, Universitas Negeri Malang (UM), with 14 participants. The results showed that participants successfully created more competitive CVs relevant to the demands of the German job market. Additionally, they reported increased confidence in the job application process. This workshop also had a broader social impact by providing better access for Indonesian workers to secure jobs in the formal sector and participate in specialized programs in Germany, such as Ausbildung, Au-Pair, and professional employment in various fields. Through a follow-up mechanism, participants uploaded their CVs to Google Drive for review by facilitators, receiving valuable feedback to improve the quality of their CVs. The long-term impact of this activity not only enhances individual readiness to compete globally but also contributes to community empowerment. As more Indonesian workers possess high-quality CVs that meet international standards, their chances of securing employment in Germany increase significantly. Synchronous learning can foster critical thinking, enabling audience to challenge harmful social norms and traditions that perpetuate child marriage. Thus, to this study aims to improve knowledge about child marriage among residents of Tanjungan Village, Mojokerto, through synchronous learning interventions. By employing a mixed-methods research design, a survey and interview following a synchronous learning from six experts on child marriage, the study explores the current understanding of respondents' knowledge of the minimum marriage age, the effects of child marriage, and evaluates the effectiveness of synchronous learning programs in enhancing knowledge towards delaying marriage. Sixty-five adolescents and adults from Tanjungan Village, Mojokerto District, East Java, participated in synchronous learning on regulation of child marriage and its consequences. A questionnaire is distributed to assess their knowledge of government regulations on the minimum age of marriage, minimum and maximum age of marriage, and age disparity during marriage before and after the activity followed by interviews with five participants, whom willing to be interviewed, to further explore their understanding of child marriage. The results show an increase in knowledge of the legal age for marriage (from 89.23% to 100%), with females demonstrating a higher level of understanding of this regulation. Interestingly, after the intervention, respondents' understanding of the maximum age limit for marriage varied more, with the majority suggesting ages between 21 and 26. As an effort to improve the quality of UKS implementation, schools are encouraged to achieve stratification standards ranging from minimal to optimal levels. However, the establishment of School Health Efforts (UKS) faces various challenges that can hinder its optimal implementation. These challenges include limited resources, both in terms of funding, facilities, and trained health workers. Suboptimal coordination between schools, health offices, and communities is also an obstacle to the alignment of sustainable health programs. However, if these challenges can be overcome, UKS has the potential to provide a significant long-term impact on the health of students and the school community. Increasing health awareness from an early age can form healthy living habits that are carried into adulthood. Realizing the importance of the existence of UKS in schools and the desire to form adolescents who are aware of health, the Poltekkes Kemenkes Malang initiated a community service program to establish UKS facilities at MTS and MAS Al-Fatah, Malang Regency, which previously did not have such facilities. This community service activity was carried out on August 10, 2024, involving training for representatives of local governments, health centers, teachers, and students, with a focus on the formation and management of UKS. The methods used included lectures, discussions, and interactive Q&A sessions guided by the committee. The main results of this activity were the formation of the UKS committee, the signing of an integrity pact, and the provision of essential medical equipment for UKS. Pre- and post-tests showed a significant increase in participant knowledge, with post-test scores reflecting a 50% increase in understanding. This program aims to empower school communities to manage health services independently and become a model for similar programs in other areas. The success of this initiative at MTS and MAS Al-Fatah is expected to inspire the development of UKS in other schools in Malang Regency.
