The Department of Sharia Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, Airlangga University as a pioneer in the study of Islamic economics in state universities in Indonesia is always carrying out activities that encourage the development of Islamic economics and finance. Therefore, Islamic Economics Department Faculty of Economics and Business Airlangga University has held several international conferences in the field of Islamic economics, such as in 2014 the International Conference on Islamic Economics and Civilization (ICIEC) was held which gathered various kinds of scientific works from academics both domestically and abroad and continued in 2015 with the International Conference of Islamic Economics and Finance (ICIEF) which also took place with success. In both events arises aspirations to publish scientific works in scientific journals of international repute. Then driven by the desire to encourage scientific development in the fields of Islamic economics and Islamic finance, the Department of Islamic Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Airlangga initiated to publish an internationally reputable journal to accommodate the work of academics in the field of Islamic economics and Islamic finance.
