AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Berkala Ilmiah Kimia Farmasi (BIKF) only publishes original articles related to the field of science as can be seen in the description. Articles will be considered for publication on the condition that they have never been published or sent to another journal. Articles can be classified as research reports or literature reviews. Manuscripts must be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English, therefore the author must ensure that the manuscripts submitted are in accordance with the rules of writing in Bahasa Indonesia or English and there are no errors in writing. The length of the manuscript must also be proportional. Manuscripts must be typed in MS Word, using the provided template. The article is not more than 14 pages long. The author must also follow the guidelines for drafting the manuscript according to the type of manuscript to be published.

1. FORMAT FOR WRITING RESEARCH ARTICLE

  • Title should be short, specific and informative. Title up to 20 words (not more than 80 letters and spaces) with capital letters in the first letter of each word according to the correct spelling. If the article is written in Bahasa Indonesia, English title should be written below the title in Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Author name includes author's full name, author affiliation, name and affiliation address, and is written consecutively using numeric symbols.

Example:

Juni Ekowati,1 Retno Widyowati,1 Marcellino Rudyanto1,2

1Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Airlangga University, Nanizar Zaman Joenoes Building, Campus C Unair, Jl. Dr. Ir Sukarno, Surabaya, Indonesia

2Institute for Tropical Diseases, Airlangga University, Campus C Unair, Jl. Dr. Ir Sukarno, Surabaya, Indonesia

  • Abstract must be structured with a short description (containing no more than 250 words, formatted in one space, and only one paragraph). If the article is written in Bahasa Indonesia, English Abstracts must be written below the Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia. Footnotes, references, and abbreviations are not used in the abstract. Abstracts in research articles must consist of "Background:", "Purpose:", "Methods:", "Result:" and "Conclusion:" in one paragraph.
  • Keywords contain 3-5 words and / or phrases and should be written below the abstract(s). Keywords must be written in English (and Bahasa Indonesia if the article is written in Bahasa Indonesia) with words or sentences that comply with scientific standards.
  • Corresponding authors contain email addresses of corresponding authors.
  • Introduction consists of background to the problem, formulation of the problem, research objectives and benefits.
  • Methods contain clear descriptions of the tools and materials used as well as schemes and research methods that are useful for other researchers to replicate and check their validity if needed. Reference should be given to the method used. Studies that use animal or human subjects must include evidence of applicable ethical research. Statistical methods should be described in detail in the methods chapter and supported by references.
  • Results and discussions should be presented accurately and concisely in a logical order with the number of tables and illustrations needed to summarize the important results of the research. The table must be horizontal (without vertical line breaks). Mathematical equations must be written clearly. If math symbols are not available on the computer, they can be handwritten in pencil. Decimal numbers must be separated by commas (,) if the article is written in Bahasa Indonesia. Tables, illustrations and photographs must be cited in text sequentially and separated from the text. Titles and detailed descriptions of illustrations (pictures, graphics) are written in the legend for illustration, not for illustration. All non-standard abbreviations used should be described in footnotes. The discussion explains the meaning of research results, does not repeat the results, how the reported results can solve problems, differences and similarities with previous research, and the possibility of developing the research. This section should include the advantages and disadvantages of this study.
  • Conclusion is the answer to the question formulated at the end of the introduction. Conclusions should be based on the results and discussions described previously. Add suggestions or feedback for further research.
  • Acknowledgments to all research contributors, if any, should be stated briefly in the manuscript prior to reference.
  • References must be arranged according to the Harvard style. The journal manager advises writers to use Mendeley-specific applications or other reference applications (for example: Endnote, Zotero, ReffWorks). References must be numbered consecutively according to the order in which they were first cited in the text, written in superscript and placed at the end of the text in numeric rather than in alphabetical order. References must be valid, 80% come from publications in the last 10 years and contain at least 40% primary references (from journals, theses, dissertations, and patent documents). Unpublished sources, such as preparations or personal communication texts, cannot be accepted as references. Only sources cited in the text appear in the reference list. Author names must be written consistently. The number and volume of the journal must be stated. The textbook edition, publisher, city, and page numbers must be included. References downloaded from the internet, including access times and web addresses, must also be included. Abbreviations for the journal name must be written in full. Research articles must have more than 15 references.
