Background: One of the reasons why diarrhea in toddlers can be more deadly compared to other ages is because the percentage of fluid in the baby's body is greater than that of other ages. In 14 health centers in the work area of the Jayapura City Health Office, diarrhea cases are always included in the top 10 diseases at both the Abepura Health Center and the North Jayapura Health Center. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the determinants of diarrhea incidence with risk factors in toddlers aged 12-59 months in Jayapura City. Methods: The design of this study is cross sectional, with the research population in toddlers aged 12-59 months who come to visit the Integrated Service Post in the working area of the health center. The sample size was calculated by the Lemeshow formula and a sample of 192 respondents was obtained by accidental sampling technique based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the sample. Data collection using questionnaires and data processing using SPSS software and analyzed univariate and bivariate with chi-square test, while multivariate test using multiple logistic regression. Results: The results showed that exclusive breastfeeding (p-value = 0.0001) and maternal attitude (p-value = 0.012) were related to the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers. The variable that determines the incidence of diarrhea is exclusive breastfeeding with a p-value = 0.0001 where the Exp(B) value is 4,317. Conclusion: The determinant variable for the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers aged 12-59 months in the city of Jayapura is exclusive breastfeeding.
