Mengurai Proses Sekuritisasi Krisis Iklim di Sudan Selatan Tahun 2016-2021

Sudan Selatan ialah negara dengan berbagai masalah politik, sosial, ekonomi, dan juga menghadapi dampak buruk dari krisis iklim. Negara ini berada pada peringkat ke-8 dalam hal kerentanan dalam skala global dan peringkat ke-175 dalam kesiapan menghadapi perubahan iklim. Oleh karenanya, penting untuk membingkai krisis iklim sebagai masalah keamanan sehingga menciptakan urgensi dalam menanganinya. Penelitian ini menyelidiki bagaimana pemerintah Sudan Selatan (aktor sekuritisasi), dengan dukungan aktor fungsional (Oxfam dan media), telah secara efektif menggambarkan krisis iklim sebagai masalah keamanan untuk melindungi rakyatnya (objek rujukan) dari ancaman eksistensial berupa krisis iklim. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dan mengacu pada Teori Sekuritisasi Barry Buzan dan Ole Wí¦ver, untuk menunjukkan bukti keberhasilan proses sekuritisasi pemerintah Sudan Selatan melalui speech act. Sudan Selatan telah mengadopsi tindakan luar biasa berupa adaptasi dan mitigasi iklim yang diuraikan dalam National Adaptation Plan (NAP), yang direspons positif oleh komunitas global dalam upaya kolaboratif mereka untuk memerangi krisis iklim.
