Objective: To prove the effect of ginger in the Uropathogenic
Escerichia coli Colonies in menopausal women.
Materials and Methods: A pra-experimental study with one
group pre test-post test design. Ginger with a similar variety and
age is turned into a powder capsule. The subject of the research is
patient in the geriatric and menopause outpatient clinic
Dr.Soetomo Central Hospital-Surabaya. Each subject taken ginger
powder for five days in row. Midstream clean catch urine was
performed before and after the treatment in order to identify and
count the colony of Uropathogenic Escerichia coli.
Results: 12 out of 52 participants had a positive Uropathogenic
Escerichia coli result from the culture before treatment. 5 subjects
had colony count 10
5
cfu/ml and 7 subjects <10
cfu/ml. 11
subject shows a negative result and 1 subject still had a positive
result although a number of colony is decrease
cfu/ml
become 2x10

pretest-posttest design. Jahe dengan jenis dan usia panen sama
diolah menjadi kapsul serbuk jahe. Subyek penelitian diperoleh di
poli Geriatri dan Menopause RSUD.Dr.Soetomo Surabaya. Setiap
subyek diberikan kapsul serbuk jahe selam 5 hari. Dilakukan
4
cfu/ml menjadi 2x10
cfu/ml
