Peer Review Process

TIJAB operates a peer review process and promotes double blind reviewing. The acceptance or rejection of articles is decided by the editorial boards based on the review results provided by the reviewers. Before going to the review process, all manuscripts will be checked that they are free from plagiarism practice using "Turnitin" software. If there is an indication of plagiarism, the manuscript will be instantly rejected. All manuscripts are first evaluated by the editorial staff to decide whether the manuscripts fit within the scope of TIJAB, and of potential interest to our readership. If the manuscript passed the editorial review, it will be sent to external reviewers.

The decisions include:

  1. Accepted, as it can be published directly
  2. Accepted with Minor Revisions (allow author to revise with a specified time limit)
  3. Accepted with Major Revisions (allow author to revise with a specified time limit)
  4. Rejected, as it can be re-evaluted after revision (generally, the manuscript is out of the scope of TIJAB, major technical problems, clarity of contents and presentation)

The Author whose paper is rejected will be informed with the reasons for the rejection.

Publication Ethic

Background

The International Journal Of Applied Business (TIJAB) is committed to ensuring that all published works adhere to the ethical standards of academic publishing. Our publication ethics and publication malpractice statement is mainly based on the Code of Conduct and Committee on Publication Ethics' Best-Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors. We foster a supportive environment and prevent conflicts of interest; it is crucial to establish clear ethical guidelines for all stakeholders. This document outlines TIJAB's policy on publication ethics and malpractice, serving as a reference for all involved parties.

Authorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have contributed significantly to the conception, design, execution, data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of the manuscript. Contributors who have played a vital role in specific aspects of the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged. The corresponding author ensures that all eligible co-authors are properly included. Any requests to add, remove, or rearrange author names in an accepted manuscript must be accompanied by a letter to the Chief Editor, signed by all authors. Additionally, each author must update and resubmit the author statement form (example form). The final version of the paper must have agreed to its submission for publication.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must adhere to the peer review process established by TIJAB. They are responsible for submitting original, accurate data (free of plagiarism and fraudulent information) and providing additional data upon request. Submitted manuscripts must not be under consideration or accepted by other journals. Any previously published data should be appropriately cited or acknowledged.

Potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed, including financial, personal, or professional relationships. Additionally, all sources of financial support and the roles of sponsors in the research must be acknowledged. Authors are expected to cooperate in publishing corrections, clarifications, retractions, or apologies when necessary with the editor to retract or correct the paper.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are tasked with improving the quality of submitted manuscripts through objective reviews within the agreed timeframe. Personal criticism of the author is unacceptable. Reviewers should present their opinions clearly, backed by well-reasoned arguments. They should inform the editor of similarities between the reviewed manuscript and other published or submitted works. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. Confidential information or ideas gained through the peer review must remain private and not be used for personal benefit. Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and avoid conflicts of interest regarding the research, authors, organizations, or institutions associated with the work or funding sources.

Responsibilities of Editors

The editors of The International Journal of Applied Business have full authority in making editorial decisions to accept or reject submissions. This decision must be guided by the validity of the work and its significance to researchers and readers. Editors should consider the journal's editorial policies and adhere to legal requirements concerning libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. In making these decisions, editors may seek advice from other editors or reviewers. They must perform their duties objectively, without bias related to gender, ethnicity, religion, political views, or geographic origin. Manuscript acceptance should be based solely on academic merit and free from commercial influence. The editor and editorial staff must preserve the anonymity of reviewers and avoid conflicts of interest. As appropriate, share information only with the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher. Unpublished content from submitted manuscripts must not be used in the editor's research without the author's explicit written consent.

Conflict of Interest

The corresponding author is required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest, including financial, personal, or professional relationships, that could influence the work. All sources of research funding must be explicitly mentioned in the manuscript.

Human Ethics Issues

For studies involving human subjects, authors must confirm in the Materials and Methods section that all procedures were conducted by relevant laws and institutional guidelines, with approval from the appropriate ethics committees. Informed consent must be obtained, and privacy rights must be protected. Research involving human subjects must align with the Declaration of Helsinki's ethical principles. Editors or reviewers may request additional documentation regarding ethical approval. TIJAB reserves the right to reject manuscripts that violate ethical guidelines.

Publication Misconduct

All parties involved—authors, reviewers, and editors—must uphold academic integrity throughout the publication process. Commercial considerations must not compromise intellectual or ethical standards. In cases of suspected misconduct, such as duplicate publication, plagiarism, data fabrication, undisclosed conflicts of interest, or ethical violations, TIJAB follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) flowcharts. The Editorial Board will review the case, and the Chief Editor will issue a final decision. Violations may result in penalties. The journal adheres to COPE's guidelines for any policies not explicitly mentioned here, providing best practices for ethical publication.
