Author Guidelines

General Instructions

  • Submitted manuscripts are those that have never been published.
  • To avoid duplication, Berkala Ilmu Kesehatan Kulit dan Kelamin does not accept manuscripts that are also sent to other scientific journals / books at the same time for publication, by signing a letter of agreement.
  • All authors involved in making the manuscript must agree to the statement sheet outlined Author Declaration and Publication Form, and author must ensure that all major authors and co-authors have read and agreed to the manuscript.
  • All manuscripts sent to Berkala Ilmu Kesehatan Kulit dan Kelamin will be discussed by experts in the field of science (Mitra Bebestari) and implementing editors.
  • Manuscript that we received must be in English and The manuscript that we received must be in English ( has already been proofread ) and the manuscript should be written by the structure as in the Document Template.
  • Manuscripts that need to be corrected both format and content will be returned to the author to be repaired within a certain time limit specified by the Editorial Team. If the correction by the author exceeds the specified time, the Editing Team has the right to discontinue the editing process and cancel the publishing process.
  • The authors cannot withdraw manuscript that have been submitted and will be going through review process.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • The submission file in the form of original article must have an ethical letter and case report article must include Case Informed Consent.
  •  "For original article, please explain (This research has been reviewed by the Ethics Committee at" ...... ") at the end of the method chapter.
  • Berkala Ilmu Kesehatan Kulit dan Kelamin in one volume of publishing articles, publications consist of :
    1. Original / research articles (9-10 articles)
    2. Literature Review Article (1 Article)
    3. Case Report Article (1-2 articles).

 

Abstract and keywords

  • Abstracts for Original Articles, Literature Review, and Case Reports made in English in the form of a paragraph with a maximum of 250 words. Abstract Original article must be structured containing: Background, Purpose, Methods, Result, Conclusion. Abstract Literature review must be structured containing: Background, Purpose, Review, Conclusion. Abstract Case Reports must be structured containing: Background, Purpose, Case, Discussion, Conclusion.
  • Abstract must be concise and clear so that reader can understand the novelty or important aspects without having to read the entire script.
  • Keywords (keywords) are listed on the same page as the abstract, choose 3-5 words that can help the preparation of the index.
 

Content of the manuscript

  • Original article contains manuscripts about the results of original research in the field of dermatology and venereology. Format of the manuscript consists of: Background (background of the problem, problem formulation, research objectives, research benefits), Methods (research design, place and time, population and sample, methods and methods of data measurement, and data analysis), Result (presented in the form narration, table, or graph), Discussion (contains discussion of research result ending with a sentence which is the conclusion of the study).
  • Literature review is a review of the novelty in dermatology and venereology. Format consists of: Background , Review, Discussion. The end of the paragraph is a narrative of conclusion.
  • Case Reports contains manuscript about cases in the field of dermatology and venereology, which are interesting and deserve to be disseminated. Format consists of: Background , Case Report, and Discussion. The sentence in the last paragraph contains a narrative about conclusion.
 

Correspondence address

  • Please include the correspondence address of the main author in the form of the author's address, telephone number, fax, and email, placed under the keyword.
 

Table

  • Table must be given a title that contains what, where, when from the contents of the table, placed on top of the table without period punctuation (.)”.
  • If there is an abbreviation, place "Description" below the table.
  • Include data contained in tables in excel format.
  • Maximum number of tables and / or figures is 8 pieces.
 

Pictures / Photos

  • Images must be captioned below the image with a concise, complete, and clear description, marked with a "period punctuation (.)" at the end of the sentence.
  • Black / white / color drawings / charts, photos / drawings of patients or images that require color detail must be color, shiny, clear contrast, postcard size with information placed on the back with a thin pencil.
  • Photos / images can be sent in JPEG format with the description below.
  • Photos of people / patients who may be identified must be accompanied by written permission.
  • Images that have been published must be given a reference.
  • Include data contained in photos / images in excel format.
  • Maximum number of tables and / or photos / figures is 8 pieces.
  • If the image quality is not good or not in accordance with the provisions and within the specified time is not corrected / fulfilled by the author, the Editing Team has the right to cancel the process of publishing the paper.
 

Statistical Method

  • Explain statistical methods in the method chapter.
  • For the final work, please at the end of the method chapter explained (This research has been through the Ethics Committee review in "......")
 

References

  • Researchers are recommended to use a reference management application such as Mendeley®, Endnote®, Zotero®, etc.
  • References are written according to Vancouver writing rules.
  •  Numbered according to the appearance in the whole text, not alphabetically.
  • Put the names of all authors if no more than 6 people; if more than 6 authors, write the names of the first 6 authors followed by et al.
  • Referral is sought from a journal of at least 80% and a maximum of 20% of books and is generally limited to articles published in the past decade, preferably the last 5 years.
