Dinamika Psikologis Individu dalam Merawat Lansia yang Mengalami Demensia

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dinamika psikologis pengasuh dari orang tua yang mengalami demensia. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologis dan teknik analisis data menggunakan Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Wawancara melibatkan dua responden wanita berusia 46 dan 47 tahun yang merawat orang tua (ibu) yang mengalami demensia. Hasil analisis data menemukan proses penerimaan diagnosis dan rasionalisasi medis pengasuh terhadap kondisi pasien demensia, adanya transformasi identitas dan konflik peran pengasuh dalam keluarga, muncul navigasi emosi pada pengasuh untuk mengatasi stres dan beban relasional, kelelahan psikologis baik beban secara kognitif dan emosional, adanya penggunaan perawat dan penerimaan dukungan sosial sebagai bentuk koping adaptif.
