Menjadi lajang (singlehood) merupakan salah satu fenomena yang banyak terjadi secara global, seiring dengan meningkatnya jumlah individu dewasa yang memutuskan untuk tidak menikah. Keputusan inidividu untuk melajang menjadi suatu fenomena yang kompleks dan dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi determinan yang berpengaruh terhadap keputusan individu untuk melajang dengan menggunakan pendekatan systematic literature review (SLR). Pencarian secara komprehensif dilakukan melalui 4 database (ScienceDirect, JStor, SAGE, dan Scopus) untuk artikel terbitan tahun 2012-2022 dengan menggunakan kata kunci “singlehood” OR “singleness” OR “celibacy” AND “reasons” OR “determinants”. Hasil telaah literatur mengidentifikasi lima tema utama determinan status lajang: faktor sosiodemografis, keyakinan terhadap pernikahan dan hubungan romantis, orientasi karier, karakteristik kepribadian, dan faktor biologis.
