Student Publication Friends: Activities in Scientific Publication at the UPT Library of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang

Background: This article is based on the information literacy activities of the SObat PUblikasi MahaSiswa (SoPuS) program, carried out by the UPT Library of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, as an effort to support the improvement of students' scientific publications, which builds upon the development of the previous information literacy program.
Purpose: This study aims to find out and understand the steps in detail of the application of The Big 6 literacy model to the activities of student publications with the results of scientific publications as the target.
Method: This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method involving 16 UMM students who have participated in the SoPuS program using The Big 6's information literacy model.
Findings: The results of the study show that the assistance provided by the UMM Library in a structured and intentional manner by librarians and the use of supporting technologies such as Publish or Perish, VOSviewer, and Mendeley can make a significant contribution to the success of students in producing scientific publications. Mentoring activities were carried out in seven meetings using the material presentation, discussion, and evaluation methods.
Conclusion: This program effectively develops students' information literacy skills in producing quality scientific publications. This activity can provide an assessment of the university library in addition to being a provider of information sources and a contributor to the increase in productivity and quality of UMM students' scientific publications.

Aktivitas Publikasi Ilmiah melalui Program Sobat Publikasi Mahasiswa di UPT Perpustakaan Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang
ABSTRAK
Latar belakang: Artikel ini dilatar belakangi dengan aktivitas literasi informasi program SObat PUblikasi MahaSiswa (SoPuS) yang dilaksanakan oleh UPT Perpustakaan Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang sebagai upaya mendukung peningkatan publikasi ilmiah mahasiswa yang merupakan pengembangan program literasi informasi sebelumnya.
Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan memahami langkah-langkah secara rinci penerapan model literasi The Big 6 pada aktivitas sobat publikasi mahasiswa dengan hasil publikasi ilmiah sebagai target.
Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus yang melibatkan 16 mahasiswa UMM yang telah mengikuti program SoPuS dengan menggunakan model literasi informasi The Big 6.
Temuan: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendampingan yang dilakukan Perpustakaan UMM secara terstruktur dan intensi oleh pustakawan serta pemanfaatan teknologi pendukung seperti Publish or Perish, VOSviewer, dan Mendeley mampu memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan terhadap keberhasilan mahasiswa dalam menghasilkan publikasi ilmiah. Kegiatan pendampingan dilaksanakan dalam tujuh pertemuan dengan metode pemaparan materi, diskusi, dan evaluasi.
Kesimpulan: Program ini dinilai efektif dalam mengembangkan keterampilan literasi informasi mahasiswa dalam menghasilkan publikasi ilmiah yang berkualitas. Dengan aktivitas ini dapat memberikan penilaian perpustakaan perguruan tinggi selain sebagai penyedia sumber informasi, juga sebagai kontributor dalam mendukung peningkatan produktivitas dan kualitas publikasi ilmiah mahasiwa UMM.
