Author Guidelines

AUTHOR GUIDELINES. JPH RECODE accepts manuscripts in the form of 1) Original research papers2) Critical review articles, 3) Literature Review, 4) Case Study, 5) Community health development report in the field of public health that are not being considered for publication in other journals. The manuscript can use Bahasa Indonesia or English.  English abstract should be provided for manuscript written in Bahasa Indonesia.  Accepted manuscript will be published in English.  Manuscripts should be written in Microsoft Word files and submitted online to OJS JPH RECODE. Guidelines for writing JPH RECODE are as follows:

Submission Guideline:

    1. The flow of submitting articles at JPH RECODE begins with registration by creating an account at Registration
    2. Then choose new submission.
    3. Select the section according to your manuscript category (research article, literature reviewcommunity health),
    4. Select the JPH RECODE scope category that suits your manuscript.
    5. In the Submission Requirements section, please make sure that all in the following list are checked:
          1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
          2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
          3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
          4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
          5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
          6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

    7. Upload the following in the upload submission column: manuscript, originality form, author declarations, and title page.
    8. Enter your article title, authors, abstract and keywords in the appropriate column and finish the submission.

Manuscript Preparation:

  • Guideline for Original research papers, Critical review articles, Literature Review, and Case Study
  1. All texts are written with the following rules:
    1) Manuscripts are written in the IMRAD format "Introduction, Method, Result and Discussion (Introduction, method, result and discussion)
    2) Use A4 (29.7 cm X 21 cm) size with a margin of 2.5 cm (top, left, right, bottom).
    3) For the manuscript use font Times New Roman font size 11, single space, and justified alignment (left and right).  Specifically for abstracts and keyword, use Times New Roman with font size of 10.
    4) Each page is numbered in ascending order, starting from the title page to the last one.
  2. The manuscript's title and abstract is typed into one column, while the introduction until the bibliography are typed into two columns. It is not allowed to use conjunctions at the beginning of a sentence.
  3. The article component contains title, abstract, keywords, introduction, methods, results, discussion, limitations of research (if any), conclusions, suggestions, acknowledgments, conflict of interest, funding source, author contribution, and bibliography.  Manuscript can be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English. 
  4. Remove names of the authors, affiliation, and e-mail from the manuscript and can only be written in the title page).The title must be clear, concise, and attractive.
  5. Write subsection in Capital and Bold letters
  6. The abstracts are written in English, with a maximum of 250 words in Times New Roman with a font size of 10 and single space.For manuscript in Bahasa Indonesia, please also provide the abstract in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.  Abstracts contain background, research purpose, methods, research results, and conclusions, all written in one (1) paragraph.
  7. Write 3-6 keywords in English in lowercase using Times New Roman with a font size of 10. The keywords should reflect the concepts contained in the related article to help increase the accessibility of the article.
  8. Write complete sentences in paragraph instead of using bullet points of ideas.  Each paragraph starts with indented line.  
  9. The introduction section contains the background of the study described in the identification of problems with the inverted pyramid method starting from global, national, local, and ending with research objectives. The Introduction section must contain information on the novelty of the study and state of art of the issue being addressed. 
  10. The method describes the design of the study, location and time of study, population, and sample (informants in qualitative research), sampling techniques, data collection techniques and instruments, data analysis, and data'presentation. All articles must include ethical clearance except for literature review.
  11. The results are in the form of research output by describing authentic and valid findings and in accordance with the objectives and research methods, for example describing the characteristics of univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis if any. In this section you can use tables and figures. Interpretation of results is made in the form of a narrative below the table or figure. Table and figure should be prepared are as follows:
    1) Write tables and figures using Times New Roman, size 8, and single space
    2) Tables are numbered and table title are placed above the table using Times New Roman, size 9, and single space
    3) The source of the table is located below the table (if the table is derived from secondary data)
    4) The Figure titles are numbered sequentially and are located below the figure. Use Times New Roman, size 9, and single space
    5) The source of the figure is located below and before the figure title (if the figure is from secondary data)
    6) The position of the tables and figures are adjusted to the article.
    7) The table is presented on the same sheet, if it must be continued on the next sheet then provide the title of the table again and followed by "continued".
  12. The discussion contains reasons that explain the results of research and comparation to other studies that support or not support the findings in the results section. It is not permitted to use the same words as those listed in the results and it is not permissible to re-read the analysis tables and graphs.
  13. Research strength and limitations (if any). It contains the strength and limitations of the study that may affect the interpretation of the research results.
  14. The conclusion contains a summary of the description of the results with reference to the research objectives.
  15. Acknowledgments. Acknowledgments are mainly to research funders or donors and to those who helped carry out the research.
  16. Conflict of Interest. Explain conflicts of interest if your research and or authors have any conflict of interest. If there is no conflict of interest, write that the author does not have any conflict of interest.
  17. Funding Source. Write the source of funding for the study. If the study was not funded by any, it can be written that the article does not have any funding source.
  18. Authors Contribution. Write the duties and responsibilities of each author in preparing the article.  All authors must contribute to the writing and reviewing of the manuscript.
  19. Suggestions can refer to practical actions, the development of theory and / or new studies or policy implication.
  20. Reference. All references uses inhouse style following JPH Recode style. The references should mainly be in the form of research articles in journals / research reports, books / articles. Authors are not permitted to use references from blogspot.com, wordpress.com, or other articles that are not published in journals.  The reference must be a primary reference source and not a quote taken from another source (example: WHO, 1995 in the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2015). The maximum number of references is 30, with at least 80% of the references published in the last 10 years. All citations in the manuscript text must be listed in the bibliography.   • Guideline for Community Health Development Report

  8. Write 3-6 keywords in English in lowercase using Times New Roman with a font size of 10. The keywords should reflect the concepts contained in the related article to help increase the accessibility of the article.

  9. Write complete sentences in paragraph instead of using bullet points of ideas.  Each paragraph starts with indented line.

  10.   11. The topic consists of several subtitles adapted to the topic being discussed. such as the activity or program carried out, the time or period of the activity, why the program was carried out, the implementation of the activity and what changes occurred, supporting evidence for the activity, etc. Table and figure should be prepared as follows:

    1) Write tables and figures using Times New Roman, size 8, and single space
    2) Tables are numbered and table title are placed above the table using Times New Roman, size 9, and single space
    3) The source of the table is located below the table (if the table is derived from secondary data)
    4) The Figure titles are numbered sequentially and are located below the figure. Use Times New Roman, size 9, and single space
    5) The source of the figure is located below and before the figure title (if the figure is from secondary data)

Authors are not asked for a publication nor submission fee, but must meet publication ethics, be fast response and follow all JPH Recode policies.

Before the Letter of Acceptance is issued, the authors must fill out the copyright transfer statement. Signed copyright transfer agreement form can be sent to jphrecode@fkm.unair.ac.id. Letter of Acceptance will be sent to corresponding author via email.

Copyright of the article is transferred to the journal, by the knowledge of the author, whilst the moral right of the publication belongs to the author. To be accepted and published by JPH RECODE, author(s) submitting the article manuscript should complete all the review stages.
