Kepuasan Pemustaka terhadap Tata Ruang Perpustakaan Universitas YARSI

Latar belakang: Salah satu aspek yang sangat penting dalam menunjang layanan perpustakaan adalah tata ruang, guna menunjang kenyamanan para pemustaka di perpustakaan. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana kepuasan pemustaka terhadap tata ruang perpustakaan Universitas YARSI. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan analisis statistik deskriptif. Pengumpulan data primer menggunakan kuesioner, didukung dengan data sekunder yaitu observasi dan dokumentasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Universitas YARSI. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan metode stratified random sampling, yaitu pemisahan populasi ke dalam beberapa strata sesuai dengan fakultas. Sehingga sampel yang didapat adalah 100 responden. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemustaka Perpustakaan Universitas YARSI secara keseluruhan merasa puas dengan tata ruang yang ada. Dapat dilihat pada hasil rekapitulasi kepuasan pemustaka dengan skor rata-rata 4,07. Nilai tersebut termasuk dalam kategori puas. Adapun beberapa hal yang menjadi harapan para pemustaka, diantaranya penyediaan toilet dan tempat shalat, disediakan area makan atau diperbolehkan untuk membawa makan dan minum ke ruang diskusi. Penambahan ruang diskusi serta pemilihan furniture dan penataan yang lebih fleksibel agar menghasilkan area diskusi dan pertemuan yang lebih luas. Kesimpulan: Tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa masuk dalam kategori puas. Pemustaka berharap adanya penambahan akses masuk, guna mempermudah para pemustaka memasuki area perpustakaan dari lantai-lantai yang disediakan, namun belum dibuka. Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi rekomendasi dalam pengembangan perpustakaan kedepannya.

Background: One essential aspect of supporting library services is interior design, to support the comfort of the users in the library. Purpose: This study aims to analyze how user satisfaction with the layout of the YARSI University library. Methods: The results of this study can be a recommendation in future library development. This research is a quantitative research with descriptive statistical analysis. Primary data collection using questionnaires, supported by secondary data, namely observation and documentation. The population in this study were students of YARSI University. The sampling technique used stratified random sampling method, which is the separation of the population into several strata according to the faculty. So that the sample obtained is 100 respondents. Results: The results showed that YARSI University Library users as a whole were satisfied with the existing layout. It can be seen in the recapitulation of user satisfaction with an average score of 4.07. This value is included in the satisfied category. As for some things that become the expectations of the users, including the provision of toilets and places of prayer, provided a dining area or allowed to bring food and drink to the discussion room. The addition of discussion rooms as well as the selection of furniture and a more flexible arrangement in order to produce a wider discussion and meeting area. Conclusion: The level of student satisfaction is in the satisfied category. Users hope that there will be additional entrance access, to make it easier for users to enter the library area from the floors provided, but they have not yet been opened. The results of this research can be used as recommendations for future library development.
