Background: Database evaluation is needed to find out the advantages and disadvantages as a basis for service improvement. Purpose: The main aim of this research is to provide a deeper understanding of the application of social media as a means of knowledge sharing in terms of the type of social media used, activities on social media, and challenges in using social media as a means of knowledge sharing. Methods: This study applies a quantitative descriptive approach using primary data collected through surveys. The sampling technique used is stratified random sampling, with a population of 5703 people and a significance level of 5%. The sample selected was 173 respondents, consisting of lecturers and final year students of the class of 2019. The survey data was analyzed using descriptive statistics using SPSS 23 for windows. The meaning of the mean value is based on interpretation guidelines. Results: The evaluation results show that the overall usability level of Springer and Cambridge Core e-journal databases is 3.70, which means that Springer and Cambridge Core e-journal databases are easy to use and satisfactory. The partial evaluation showed a learnability score of 3.73, efficiency of 3.70, memorability of 3.59, errors of 3.64, and satisfaction of 3.88. Satisfaction is the highest usability attribute with a value of 3.88, while memorability is the attribute with the lowest value of 3.59. Conclusion: Based on the results of the analysis, it is concluded that the Springer and Cambridge Core e-journal databases are easy to learn, efficient, rarely make errors, and help users in searching for academic information effectively. These results show that this database supports the academic activities of users according to the concept of usability by Jakob Nielsen.
