Frequently Asked Question (FAQ)

  1. What is the publication frequency of JEBIS?
JEBIS publishes issues (twice a year – June and November). Each issue typically contains 10–15 full-length articles covering diverse topics within Islamic economics and business studies.
  1. Do you offer a fast-track or accelerated review route?
No. JEBIS does not provide a fast-track or accelerated review route. All manuscripts follow the same peer-review and editorial process to maintain fairness, transparency, and academic integrity.
  1. What is the peer review process for submissions to JEBIS?
  • All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening (desk review) to assess their relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, quality of writing, and adherence to author guidelines.
  • Manuscripts that pass this screening are sent for peer review. JEBIS applies a double-blind review process, meaning that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other.
  • Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer feedback.
  • Final publication decisions (acceptance, revision, or rejection) are made by the editor based on reviewer recommendations and journal policy.
  1. Can a manuscript be rejected before peer review?
Yes. A manuscript can be rejected during the initial screening phase (desk rejection) if it is out of scope, lacks originality, shows major methodological flaws, fails to meet ethical standards, or does not comply with the submission format required by the journal.
  1. Are there article processing charges (APC) for publishing with JEBIS?
No. JEBIS applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 0. Authors are not required to pay any fees for submission, peer review, or publication. JEBIS is committed to providing open access publishing free of charge to both authors and readers.
  1. Is the journal open access?
Yes. JEBIS is an open access journal. All articles are freely accessible online immediately upon publication, without any subscription or payment barriers.
  1. May authors use Artificial Intelligence (AI) or generative tools in manuscript preparation?
Yes, under specific conditions. Authors may use AI-assisted tools (for example, to improve grammar or summarize literature), but they remain fully responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the content. Any use of AI tools must be formally disclosed through an official “AI Use Disclosure Statement Letter”, which can be downloaded from the journal’s website and submitted as a separate document during the manuscript submission process. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the use of AI tools does not result in ethical misconduct, plagiarism, copyright infringement, or data privacy violations. For further details, please refer to the AI and Generative Technology Use Policy of Jurnal Ekonomi dan Bisnis Islam (JEBIS).
  1. How long is the timeline from submission to publication?
The duration of the editorial and review process varies depending on manuscript quality and reviewer availability. However, for manuscripts that have passed the initial editorial screening, assignment to reviewers will take place within a maximum of one month from the submission date.
Subsequent phases (peer review, revision, and final acceptance) follow the journal’s standard workflow. The overall time from submission to publication depends on the quality of revisions and editorial scheduling.
  1. How many articles are published in each issue?
Each issue typically includes 10–15 research articles, depending on the number and quality of accepted submissions in that period.
  1. Can authors suggest potential reviewers for their manuscript?

Authors are permitted to archive their accepted manuscript or final published version in institutional or personal repositories, provided proper citation to the published version is included.
  1. What is the journal’s policy on ethical issues, plagiarism, and misconduct?
