Intimacy dan Marital Satisfaction Pasangan Suami–Istri Pasien Kanker Serviks yang Belum Histerektomi : Suatu Studi Kualitatif

Objektif : Penelitian ini mengamati intimacy dan kepuasan pernikahan pasien kanker serviks beserta suaminya untuk menekankan pentingnya perspektif psikososial pada pasien kanker. Metode : Observasional kualitatif, serial kasus, total dan purposive sampling pada pasien kanker serviks stadium 0 sampai 3 berusia 20-50 tahun dan belum diterapi. Dilakukan wawancara mendalam, penilaian dengan kuesioner skala Personal Assessment of Intimacy, adaptasi Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale dan follow up 3-6 bulan. Sample dari Klinik Onkologi Kandungan RSUD Dr. Soetomo tahun 2016. Analisis data kualitatif disajikan dalam narasi dan tabel.
Hasil : 5 pasangan subyek, usia 39 – 58 tahun. Satu pasien stadium 3B menyalahkan kanker sebagai penyebab ketidakpuasan pernikahannya. Disrupsi intimacy ditemukan pada 4 pasangan terutama aspek seksual dan rekreasional. Satu pasangan mampu mempertahankan wellbeing sebagai individu maupun pasangan meskipun aktivitas intim aspek tertentu berubah. Faktor-faktor lain yang didiskusikan mencakup aspek budaya, lingkungan, kepribadian, stigma serta persepsi akan kanker dan pernikahan.
Simpulan : Intimacy yang dimaknai sebagai kedekatan, dalam perkembangannya selama menikah dapat makin memperkuat komitmen, mempengaruhi kepuasan serta pertahanan relasi terutama selama masa sulit,termasuk adanya kanker. Kualitas intimacy berperan pada manajemen stres diantaranya membantu kenyamanan pasien selama adaptasi. Kanker mempengaruhi pasien dan pasangan sehingga lebih baik dikelola sebagai "penyakit pasangan".
