Focus and Scope
Media Gizi Kesmas receives manuscripts in the field of nutrition and public health. The scopes are:
- Nutrition (Public Health Nutrition, Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, Food Service Management)
- Public Health (Health Policy and Administration, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Promotion and Behavioral Science, Reproductive Health)
- Current issues in nutrition and public health
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts received by the editor of Media Gizi Kesmas will be reviewed by peer reviewers according to the nutrition and public health study field, with at least 2 independent peer-reviewers with a double-blind policy. A double-blind policy means that the authors and reviewers do not know each other and keep their anonymity. The review process can take at least 2 weeks up to 1 month. The editor-in-chief will take the final decision based on the reviewers' comments at the editorial board meeting forum. The process from submission until accepted will take around 3 months, and from accepted until publication will take around 10 months.
Open Access Policy
MGK (Media Gizi Kesmas) provides immediate open access to its content by making research freely available for the public and supporting greater global knowledge exchange.
This is an open-access journal, meaning all content is freely available without charge to users or / institutions. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to full-text articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or author. This is in accordance with Budapest Open Access Initiative. Media Gizi Kesmas by UNAIR is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.
This journal utilizes the Public Knowledge Project Private LOCKSS Network (PKP PLN) and CLOCKSS systems to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.
Article Processing Charge
a. Article Submission Charge: Free
b. Article Processing Charge (APC): IDR 350,000
If accepted for publication, authors are required to pay an Article processing charge to contribute to review costs, editing, and layout. Payment can be made through Virtual Account Number 988-3030-300-000-331 (BNI a/n UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA).
c. Waiver Policy
If you do not have funds to pay such fees, you will have an opportunity to ask for a waive for APC. We do not want fees to prevent the publication of worthy work/manuscripts.
Media Gizi Kesmas doesn't accept articles with any type of plagiarism. Submitted manuscripts will be checked using Turnitin software. Each manuscript must have a similarity index score of less than 30%.
ORCID ID Policy
Starting from Volume 11, Number 1 (2022), Authors (at least one of the authors) must include ORCID ID when submitting the manuscript.
MGK (Media Gizi Kesmas) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that published articles related to nutrition and public health issues and is freely available to be accessed, downloaded, and used for research purposes. Manuscripts submitted to Journal Media Gizi Kesmas (MGK) are published under the terms of the Creative Commons License. The terms of the license are:
Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
ShareAlike — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.
