Media Gizi Kesmas (MGK) is a scientific journal under the auspices of Universitas Airlangga that uses a peer review system and is published by the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Airlangga. This journal publishes research focusing on nutrition and public health. It is published and managed by the Institute for Innovation, Journal Development, Publishing, and Intellectual Property Rights (LIPJPHKI), Universitas Airlangga.
MGK has been actively published since Volume 8, Number 1, in June 2019, with p-ISSN 2301-7392 and e-ISSN: 2745-8598. It is published twice a year, in June and December. Articles published in MGK include original research articles, literature reviews, and case studies.
The scope of MGK includes Nutrition (Public Health Nutrition, Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, Food Service Management), Public Health (Health Policy and Administration, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Promotion and Behavioral Science, Reproductive Health), and current issues in nutrition and public health.
MGK has been accredited as a Level 4 Scientific Journal (SINTA 4) by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia (RISTEKDIKTI), based on the Decree of the Director General of RISTEKDIKTI Number 225/E/KPT/2022, dated December 7, 2022. This accreditation applies from Volume 9, Number 1 (2020) to Volume 13, Number 2 (2024).
Articles published from 2019 to 2024 are available in both English and Indonesian. However, starting from Volume 14, Number 1, in 2025, all articles will be published exclusively in English. Article submissions to MGK are open throughout the year. Before submitting a manuscript, authors must ensure that it aligns with MGK's focus and scope and follows the guidelines for authors and the MGK manuscript template.
