Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Papers submitted to the editorial are self-generated papers, scientific, and contain contemporary and unpublished papers.
  • Files in the form of Microsoft Word.
  • If there is a list of reference downloaded from the internet, then provide the URLs address.
  • Manuscripts are typed 1.5 spaces on A4-sized paper, left edge margin of 2.5 cm, right edge margin of 2 cm, top edge margin of 2.5 cm, and bottom edge margin of 3 cm. Used font type is Times New Roman, with the size of: title in Bahasa Indonesia 14 pt, title in English language 12 pt, author’s name 10 pt, author’s affiliation 9 pt, mark (*) for corresponding author(s), abstract and manuscript content 11 pt, tables and figures 9 pt. For tables, the spaces in the table is 1 space (single-spaced). Manuscripts are sent online via website https://e-journal.unair.ac.id/index.php/MGI/login with the maximum pages of 15. The manuscript content is written in two-column format. If the manuscript were written in English, the title in English was put before the title in Bahasa Indonesia. 

  • The reference writing refers to APA Referencing Guide 6th edition. [Publication Manual of the American Psychologycal Association. (6th ed.). (2010). Washington, D.C .: American Psychological Association]. The reference is organized systematically and ordered / alphabetically by author name.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

I. GENERAL GUIDELINES

Papers submitted to the editorial are self-generated papers, scientific, contain contemporary issues and unpublished. To avoid duplication, the editor does not accept papers that are also sent to other journals at the same time for publication.

 

Each author should attach:

  • A brief Curriculum Vitae (CV) of corresponding author on separate sheet, containing full name and title of author, address, home and institution phone number, formal education, publication and / or research of the last 5 years (optional)
  • The original statement sheet (that the submitted article does not contain plagiarism)
  • English proofread of the manuscript

 

II. FORMAT MANUSCRIPT WRITING

Manuscript should be typed using MS Word program, 1.5 space on A4 paper size with the left should be 4 cm length, while right, top, and bottom margin should be 3 cm length.  The font used should be Times New Roman, sizing 16 pt for the title, 10 pt for author’s name, 9 pt for author’s identity, 11 pt for abstract and main content, and 9 pt for tables and figures. Specifically, for tables, single spaced should be used. The contents of the paper are made in two columns. The length of article should not below 10 pages and should not exceed 15 pages, send both in print-out and softcopy. Authors should also follow the manuscript preparation guidelines.

 

Guideline for Literature Review

Media Gizi Indonesia (MGI) / National Nutrition Journal

 

  • The title should be short, specific and informative. Maximum title consists of 20 words (not exceeding 80 letters and spaces) with capital letters on the first letter of each word according to the Enhanced Spelling and center location. Titles can be written in English or Indonesian.
  • Author name includes the full name of the author, affiliate author, affiliate name and address, and written in sequence using the number symbol (1).

  • Abstract (Abstract) and Keywords (keywords)

Abstracts are written in Indonesian and English with Times New Roman font type, 11 pt size, single spaces. For foreigner, abstract can be only written in English. Word counts not exceeding 250 words, listed in 1 (one) paragraph, listing the keywords mentioned at the bottom of the abstract paragraph as many as 3-5 specific words and often used in articles. Avoid quotes and abstract abbreviations.

  • The correspondent author contains the details of the author data in charge with the detailed address and e-mail (consisting of full name, name of institution, address, telephone number, fax number, and email address).
  • Introduction consists of the background of the problem, the formulation of the problem, the purpose of the literature review and the research benefits. The introduction in the literature review follows the main topics written and the general overview of the topics to be covered.
  • Reviews contain points and detailed items based on literature / literature that correlate with the subject covered, which will be discussed in the discussion section.
  • Results and Discussions describe the detail of the subject discussed or the elaboration of the review, not repeat the review, how the review of the reported literature can solve the problem, as well as differences and similarities with previous studies. This section should include the advantages, disadvantages and conclusions of the research results.
  • Conclusion is the answer to the question formulation that is asked at the end of the introduction. The conclusions should be based on the discussions described earlier. Add suggestions or feedback for further research.
  • Acknowledgments for all research contributors, if any, should be stated briefly on the manuscript before reference.
