Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.

  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.

  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

AUTHOR GUIDELINES

GENERAL WRITING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Article submitted to the editor classified as original research from community service and engagement activity
  2. The manuscripts submitted to the editor must be original manuscripts that are not being sent to other journals and have never been published in other scientific journals neither online or printed form.
  3. The manuscript must be written in good, clear, straightforward, and concise Indonesian or English. Writing articles in Indonesian must refer to the Panduan Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia (PUEBI) based on the Permendikbud RI No. 50 tahun 2015 issued by Badan Pengembangan dan Pembinaan Bahasa (http://badanbahasa.kemdikbud.go.id/lamanbahasa/sites/default/files/PUEBI.pdf).
  4. The script should be typed using Microsoft Word program at A4 paper size. It’s typed using Times New Roman font, 12 pt font size except for 14 pt for script title, 1.5 line spacing, and 2.5 cm of left, right, up, and bottom margin paper. Article length can’t be less than 7 and no more 12 pages. Every page should be given a page number.

 

WRITING FORMAT OF MANUSCRIPT

Title. The title should be written in Indonesian or English using Times New Roman font, 14 font size, bold, and using capital letters. The title should be written concisely, informative, and reflects the contents of the article. The number of words in the title can’t be less than 6 and no more than 16 words.

 

Authors & Affiliation. The author's name should be written in a complete sequence without a title. Each author's name is given a superscript number that indicates each author's affiliation. The correspondence author’s name is given a superscript asterisk after the affiliate number. Each author's affiliation is listed under the full title and name of the author starting from the department, institution/ university, and postal code. The identity and address of the author of the correspondence are listed under the author's affiliation. The identity of the correspondence author includes name, address, e-mail, phone number, and fax. Correspondence authors are responsible for correspondence relating to journal articles.

 

Abstract. The abstract should be written in English and Indonesian, no more than 250 words, and contains the essence of the entire writing. The abstract includes background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

 

Introduction. The introduction explains the background of the activity in a concise manner, a brief review of the related literature, the formulation of actual and factual problems, the purpose of the activity, as well as the benefits of community service activities. The introduction should not be written more than 2 pages.

 

Method. It contains activity methods carried out in community service. The method of activities should be explained in full. The equipment and materials used in the activity are listed.

 

Result and Discussion. The results of the activities are explained specifically and concisely but also comprehensive. Results can be supplemented by tables, graphs, photographs, and images if needed. The table, graph, photograph, or image must be accompanied by a narrative text in the paragraph before it. Provisions for writing tables, graphs, and figures are as follows:

  • Numbered in sequence, table title, and must be referred to the narrative text in the paragraph before the table. The table caption is placed in the footnote at the bottom of the table.
  • Graph/ Chart. Listed along with legend (graphic description). The graph/ chart titles are written below the graph/ chart.
  • Clearly stated, centered, and given the title at the bottom of the picture and numbered pictures sequentially.

The discussion contains the interpretation of the results from the activities put together in the Results and Discussion chapter. The discussion is accompanied by a logical argument by linking the results of community service activities with the theory, research journals, and outcomes of community service activities to other communities. The discussion also contains an analysis of community service activity whether they have been able to overcome the problems formulated in the introduction.

 

Conclusion and Suggestion. Briefly written in a separate chapter consisting of 1 or 2 short paragraphs. Suggestions are written in separate paragraphs with conclusions.

 

Acknowledgment. It contains gratitude to those who play an important role in the implementation of community service activities such as funding, grants, and so on. At the end of the author must include a statement about there is no conflict of interest as follows: "Penulis menyatakan tidak ada konflik kepentingan dengan pihak-pihak yang terkait dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini".

 

Bibliography. Arranged in alphabetical order according to the Harvard system. All references referred to in the manuscript are written in the bibliography, and vice versa. It is written using a reference manager such as Mendeley or EndNote. Examples of writing a library in a bibliography are as follows:

  2. When the manuscript has been received by the editor, the writer will get a "notification to be processed" no later than 7 days after the manuscript is received. 
  3. Each article submitted to the editorial office of the Journal of Darmabakti Cendekia is not charged any (free-no page charge) including free-of-charge article processing fees. The publication fee is borne by this journal publisher.
