Folia Medica Indonesiana (FMI) is the medical journal of Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya, Indonesia. The first volume of the journal was issued in 1964 under the title of "Berita Research Kedokteran Surabaja". At the end of 1960s, the journal changed its name into "Madjalah Kedokteran Surabaja", which then in 1970s the spelling was adjusted to become "Majalah Kedokteran Surabaya", and in the mid of 1997 the journal again changed its name into the current "Folia Medica Indonesiana". FMI publishes articles four times a year (in March, June, September and December) on the whole aspects of medical and health sciences from basic sciences, clinical, and community or public health research.

The content of the journal can be accessed openly, making the articles freely available to endorse the global exchange of knowledge. FMI has been accredited by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, the Republic of Indonesia according to the decree No.158/E/KPT/2021 which applies from Vol. 56 No. 4 2020 and is valid until Vol. 61 No. 3 2025. Folia Medica Indonesiana has also been indexed in several reputable citation indices and journal databases such as ProQuest, Crossref, ASEAN Citation Index, and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
