Editorial Policies

This journal is a peer-reviewed journal established to promote the recognition of emerging and reemerging diseases, specifically in Indonesia, Southeast Asia, other tropical countries, and around the world, and to improve the understanding of factors involved in disease emergence, prevention, and elimination.

The journal is aimed at scientists, clinicians, and professionals in the fields of infectious diseases, biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, and related sciences. In addition, we welcome contributions from infectious disease specialists in academics, industry, clinical practice, public health, and pharmacy, as well as experts in economics, social sciences, and other disciplines. For information on manuscript categories and the suitability of proposed articles, see below and visit the Guidelines for Authors section.

Each submitted manuscript will be evaluated using double-blind review methods (in which the author does not know who is reviewing their manuscript, while the reviewers do not know who the authors are since the manuscript itself is sent anonymously) with at least two independent peer reviewers assigned on the following basis:

  • The originality of its contribution to the field of scholarly publishing.
  • The soundness of its theory and methodology given the topic.
  • The coherence of its analysis.
  • The ability of the manuscript to communicate to readers (grammar and style).

In the case when two independent peer-reviewers have opposing decisions, the third peer-reviewer will be asked to review the manuscript, and his/her decision will be final for determining whether the manuscript is accepted or rejected.

The average turn-around time for manuscript evaluation is four to eight weeks from the date of receipt.

Indonesian Journal of Tropical Disease is published three times a year in April, August, and December.
