Author Guideline

Jejaring Administrasi Publik is an open-access and peer-reviewed journal published by the Department of Public Administration, Universitas Airlangga. The journal accepts original research articles that contribute to the theoretical and practical understanding of public administration. Submissions must comply with the following guidelines:

1. General Author Guidelines

  • Title: The article title must accurately reflect the content of the article, consisting of 8-14 words in Indonesian and English, avoiding the use of all capital letters.
  • Author Details: The author's name must be consistent in form and spelling, without academic titles. It should include the Department, Faculty, University/Institution, and email correspondence.
  • Abstract: The abstract should be written in one paragraph in both Indonesian and English and followed by keywords. It should be 200-250 words, covering the background, purpose, research methods, discussion, and conclusion.
  • Relevance: The article must be relevant to the field of public administration and demonstrate clear scholarly contribution.
  • Originality: Submitted articles must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
  • Formatting:
    • Articles should be written in Microsoft Word, using Times New Roman, font size 12, and 1.5 spacing.
    • The word count should be 3,500-6,000 words (excluding references and appendices).

2. Manuscript Preparation and Structure

To maintain a scientific and structured approach, the manuscript should follow these guidelines:

  • Essay Format: Articles must be written in essay format, avoiding numbered or lettered sections for chapter/section separation.
  • Citation Style: The journal uses in-text running notes instead of footnotes or endnotes. Example:
    • (Hill & Hupe, 2001; Thompson, 2005: 120-123)
    • (Porter et al., 2004)
    • (Hogwood, 1981 in Gunn, 1984)
  • Conclusion: The conclusion should be written as a paragraph, not in bullet points.
  • Tables & Figures:
    • If the article includes tables, graphs, or images, they should be submitted in a separate file in a tab-delimited format.
    • Table Titles should be placed above the table (e.g., Table 1. Table Title).
    • Figure Captions should be placed below the figure (e.g., Figure 1. Figure Title/Caption).

3. References

  • Referencing Style: All references must follow the APA citation style using Mendeley or similar reference management software.
  • Recency of References:
    • At least 80% of references must be from journal articles published within the last 10 years.
    • Self-citation should be minimized.
