The Journal of Islamic Economics and Business (JEBIS) (e-ISSN: 2527-3027; p-ISSN: 2442-6563) is a scientific, peer-reviewed journal published by Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia, and managed by the Islamic Economics Department of the Faculty of Economics and Business. First published in June 2015, JEBIS is issued twice a year, in June and December, and serves as a scholarly platform for researchers, academics, practitioners, and public audiences who have a deep interest in the academic development of Islamic Economics, Islamic Business, and Islamic Banking and Finance.

JEBIS welcomes diverse methodological approaches—quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods—in addressing contemporary issues, theoretical debates, and practical challenges within the field of Islamic economics and business. It accepts contributions from both Islamic and non-Islamic countries, particularly where Islamic economic values are practiced, explored, or being integrated into public and private sectors. What distinguishes JEBIS from other journals in the same field is its strong emphasis on interdisciplinary perspectives, combining insights from economics, finance, business, and ethics under the framework of Maqasid al-Shariah (the objectives of Islamic law). JEBIS not only provides space for empirical studies but also encourages the development of new conceptual models and contemporary Islamic economic thought, especially those that contribute to sustainability, digital transformation, and inclusive development. The journal actively involves international scholars as editors and reviewers to ensure the global relevance and academic rigor of its publications.

JEBIS has been officially accredited as a Scientific Journal by the Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology, and National Research and Innovation Agency (RISTEK-BRIN) through Decree No. 10/C/C3/DT.05.00/2025, dated March 21st, 2025, and is valid until March 21st, 2030. This recognition affirms the journal’s consistent commitment to quality, transparency, and contribution to global Islamic economic discourse.
