Correction, Retraction, & Withdrawal

Correction, Retraction, & Withdrawal

The Pediomaternal Nursing Journal (PMNJ) has a consistent policy for corrections and retractions, including Erratum, Corrigendum, Retraction, Addendum, Article Removal, and Article Withdrawal.

  • Erratum (Publisher Correction): Publisher-issued corrections are highlighted during the proof stage to identify and rectify errors before final publication. Errata address scientifically relevant formatting changes or incorrect authorship, such as missing figures or proofreading errors. Minor errors that do not affect readability or meaning do not require an erratum. Authors should carefully proofread the final version.
  • Corrigendum (Author Correction): Authors can request changes after acceptance by contacting the journal's editor. The editor will assess the impact and take appropriate action. PMNJ will initiate a corrigendum to a published article only with the editor's approval and instructions. Authors seeking to change their names after publication should contact the journal's Editorial Office to ensure necessary updates while considering sensitivity and privacy. To protect author identity, an erratum will not be published, and co-authors will not be notified. Name change requests can be submitted to the Editorial Office via email at secretariat_pmnj@fkp.unair.ac.id.
  • Retraction: Notifying readers of erroneous results in a previously published article that could undermine its credibility. The original publication remains accessible, but a retraction statement clarifies its invalidity.
  • Addendum: Publishing additional information, such as affiliations or clarifications of methods/analysis, that was unintentionally omitted from the original publication. The addendum, assigned with article numbers, is included in the current journal issue and linked to the original publication without requiring an update.
  • Article Removal: Reserved for severe cases where issues cannot be addressed through retractions or corrections. Article removal is considered for content that poses significant risks, violates privacy rights, is defamatory or infringing, or is subject to a court order. A notice of removal is issued in place of the removed article.
  • Withdrawal Policy: Authors can request the withdrawal of their submission by contacting the editor-in-chief or submitting a reasonable request via email.
