Halal (Øلال) refers to lawful or permissible is one of the comprehensive Islamic ways of life. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala said in the Qur'an: "... eat from whatever is on earth [that is] halaan thayyiban (lawful and good) and do not follow the footsteps of Satan ...” (Al Baqarah 168). But now, the concept of halal is not only related religious issues but also sciences and technology. Halal has become a symbol of good quality thoroughly. Indonesia becomes a large market promoting and developing halal products and lifestyles, not just for Muslims but for non-Muslims. Globally, halal product trade in the world increased to trillions of rupiah and increases annually. The increase is very rapid in many areas, i.e: economic-finance, food and beverage, medicine, cosmetics, tourism-hotel, transportation, and so forth.
