Strengthening the Policy on the Use of AI Tools of Jurnal Rekonstruksi dan Estetik

2025-11-27

In order to enhance publication quality, transparency, and copyright protection, the journal has implemented stricter regulations regarding the use of generative AI technologies.

Editors, Reviewers, and Authors are permitted to use AI-based tools solely to improve linguistic clarity and writing quality. All AI-generated output must be carefully supervised, reviewed, and edited by humans to ensure accuracy, originality, and compliance with copyright requirements. AI must not be used to generate research ideas, develop arguments, produce or analyze data, interpret findings, or create or modify images, illustrations, or graphical abstracts, except for minor technical adjustments that do not alter the original information. Confidential data and copyrighted materials must not be entered into any AI system. AI tools cannot be listed as authors, and human authors retain full responsibility for the integrity and content of the manuscript.

All manuscripts and related communications are strictly confidential. Editors and Reviewers are prohibited from uploading manuscripts or any of their components to AI tools, including for evaluation purposes. The editorial and peer-review processes must be conducted by humans, as AI cannot reliably perform the critical assessment required. Reviewers may identify potentially AI-generated manuscripts by noting the absence of publication records, lack of official institutional affiliation, or sudden unsolicited submissions. Editors remain fully responsible for the editorial process and final decisions.

All use of AI must be transparently disclosed in the manuscript and will be stated in the published version in accordance with the publication ethics guidelines of Elsevier,  Generative AI policies for journals,  COPE, and WAME. For further information, please refer to our Publication Ethics and GFA.
