Guidelines for Authors

Jurnal Promkes: The Indonesian Journal of Health Promotion and Health Education

  1. Jurnal Promkes: The Indonesian Journal of Health Promotion and Health Education accepts two types of articles, original research and literature reviews
  2. Original research MUST include a research code of ethics
  3. Literature reviews MUST use standard methods, such as PRISMA
  4. The maximum similarity is 25% (it will be checked by Turnitin)
  5. Articles submitted to Jurnal Promkes include the results of studies and research in the field of promotion and health education. The manuscript is typed with the Microsoft Word program, Trebuchet MS letter, size 10 pts, with single space, printed on A4 paper of 6-10 pages in English articles, with a top 2.5 margin; bottom 2.5; left 4 and right 2.5cm articles arranged in two columns. 

  6. Articles should be written in English. The systematic writing of articles is the title; Writer's name; abstract with keywords; introduction, methods, results and discussion, conclusions, and reference.

  7. Article titles in must not be more than 10 words. The title is printed with capital letters in the middle, with a letter size of 13 pts.

  8. The author's name is stated without an academic title, accompanied by the name and address of the original institution, and placed under the title of the article. In the case of a manuscript written by a team, the editor only deals with the main author or writer whose name is listed first. The main author must include a correspondence address or e-mail address.

  9. Abstract length is a maximum of 250 words, while the number of keywords is 4-5 words or a combination of words. The abstract at least contains a background, purpose, methods, results, and conclusion.

  10. The introduction section contains the background, research context, results of research objectives. All introduction sections are presented in an integrated paragraph form, with a length of 15-20% of the total length of the article.

  11. The method section contains exposures in paragraph form about the research design, data sources, data collection techniques, and data analysis that were carried out by researchers with a length of 10-15% of the total length of the article.

  12. The part of the research results contains an explanation of the results of the analysis related to the research question. Every research result must be discussed. The discussion contains the meaning of the results and the comparison with the theories and/or results of similar studies. Long exposure to results and discussion of 40-60% of the total length of the article.

  13. The conclusions section contains the findings of the research answers for the research questions or the core results of the discussion. Conclusions are presented in paragraph form.

  14. Bibliography only contains sources that are referred to, and all sources referenced must be listed in the bibliography. Literature sources of at least 80% in the form of sources published in the last 10 years. The article used for the referral is 60% of the total referrals. The literature used is primary sources in the form of research articles (including theses and dissertations).

  15. Quoting uses a caged source technique (name, year-end). The inclusion of sources in direct quotations should be accompanied by a description of the fixed page number from the quote. Example: (Subagyo, 2013).

  16. References must use Mendeley or Endnote software. References in the Promkes Journal use APA style.

  17. The bibliography is arranged alphabetically and chronologically.

  18. Includes an Acknowledgment chapter before the References chapter.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.

  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.

  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.

  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Timeline:
1. Submit --> review = 1 week
2. Review - revision - LOA = 3-6 weeks
3. LoA to publish --> depending on what volume is entered and will be informed in LoA (related to journal quotas that have been fulfilled)
