Focus and Scope
Articles must be original writings about the results of community service activities in various fields of science application. Community service activities related to research implementation, application of appropriate technology, dissemination of innovation, and development of community empowerment models from various disciplines. The article must have never been published in international or national scientific journals.

Peer Review Process
Decision of Publication
a) The Editor of the Jurnal Layanan Masyarakat (Journal of Public Services) is responsible for deciding which articles to submit to the journal must be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance for researchers and readers must always drive the decision. The editors can be guided by the policies of the journal editorial board and are limited by legal requirements that will apply regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The editors can negotiate with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.
b) Fair Play, the Editor at any time evaluating texts for their intellectual content regardless of race, sex, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the author.
c) Confidentiality, the Editor and any editorial staff may not disclose any information about the manuscript sent to anyone other than the appropriate author, reviewer, prospective reviewer, other editorial advisors, and publisher, as appropriate.
d) Disclosure and conflicts of interest, unpublished material disclosed in the text submitted may not be used in the editor's research without the written consent of the author.
Review Process
a) Review Process. After the manuscript is received, a similarity checking will be carried out using Turnitin, the tolerance limit of Turnitin is 20%. If the manuscript has a similarity of less than 20%, then it will be sent to the editor for review. After passing through the terms of writing, it will be sent to the reviewer (double-blind review). Each manuscript will be assigned by a minimum of two reviewers.
The paper that has been reviewed will have a decision: accepted without changes, minor revision, major revision, and reject. Average number of weeks between article submission & publication is eight to twelve weeks.
b) The reviewer's decision will be considered by the Editorial Board to determine the next process of the manuscript.
c) Revision Phase. After the manuscript is received with a small or large revised notation, the manuscript will be returned to the author with a summary review form. For texts received with major revisions, the author is given three weeks to revise. Whereas for manuscripts received with minor revisions, one week is allocated for revision. When returning a revised text, the author is required to fill out and attach a summary review form.
d) Final decision. At this stage, the manuscript will be re-evaluated by the Editor's Board to ensure that the authors have revised it in response to reviewers' concerns. In this final decision, the manuscript can still be rejected if the writer is not serious about making the necessary revisions.
e) Proofread. After the manuscript is deemed acceptable by the Editor's Board, it will undergo a proofreading process to maintain linguistic quality.
f) Confirm publication. At this stage, the final layout of the manuscript will be sent back to the author to ensure that the content is in accordance with the writer's writing. At this stage, the author can revise the typos found in the final manuscript. After confirmation from the author is given, the Editorial Secretary will process the manuscript for online publication on the website as well as print publications.
Publication Frequency
Jurnal Layanan Masyarakat (Journal of Public Services) publish four times in one year in March, June, September, and December.
Open Access Policy
The journal allows readers to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of its articles and allow readers to use them for any other lawful purpose.
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

We using 20% Turnitin as our plagiarism checker tool to ensure that our article is free from plagiarism issues.

Article Processing Charge
All articles published in our journals are free Article Processing Charge (APC), open access and freely available online, immediately upon publication. This includes the provision of online tools for editors and authors, article production and hosting, liaison with abstracting and indexing services, and customer services.

Journal History
Jurnal Layanan Masyarakat (Journal of Public Services) was first published in Vol. 1 No. 1 of 2017 is still a print journal and not yet OJS. At the beginning of 2020 for the 4th Volume Issue No. 2 in 2020, it just entered into OJS.
In the year of 2023, Jurnal Layanan Masyarakat (Journal of Public Services) change its publication frequency from twice a year to four times a year. From 2023, Jurnal Layanan Masyarakat (Journal of Public Services) published in March, June, September, and December.
According to Decree No. 79/E/KPT/2023 stated by Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Jurnal Layanan Masyarakat Journal of Public Services) has received accreditation SINTA 4.
