Abstract
Abstract
The L-asparaginase enzyme (E.C 3.5.1.1) is a tetramer protein belonging to the family group of amidohydrolases. L-asparaginase selectively hydrolyzes L-aspargin (L-Asn) to ammonia (NH3) and aspartic acid. This study aims to obtain species of L-asparaginase enzyme producing bacteria isolated from Avicennia marina mangroves from Bajul Mati Beach, Malang, East Java, Indonesia. This research carried out several stages such as took and prepared samples, screened L-asparaginase, and identified using the mycrobact system test. The results showed that the isolates with the largest L-asparaginase enzyme activity were DAM6 and it was originated from the leaves of Avicennia marina. DAM6 isolate is a gram-negative with an oval shape, uneven edges, and convex elevation. Based on microbact analysis, DAM6 isolates are Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
